Guidance on sketches

To prepare your dimensioned plan you will need a 5m tape measure, pen and paper. The first set of plans should include the ground and first floor for the existing house. Once this is complete then a separate sheet including the proposal with dimensions should be included.

Plans clearly marked with a title i.e existing ground floor etc.
Dimensions should be in millimeters.
Length and a width dimensions for each room,
Position windows, chimneys staircases etc. from a wall.
Include the exterior and interior wall thicknesses.
Ceiling height on the ground and first floor.
Include name and address on each page.

See sample sketch survey.

If you are worried about taking the measurements yourself then you can always book a myhomemyplans agent to come out and take the measurements for you.
